Last year, we opened part of our site as an arcade and it went well! Too well. The server was overloaded by November (over 2 million hits a month) and we had to shut it down.
Well, it’s back, baby! It has it’s own much larger server, bigger and better than ever.
Need a break from browsing KHP’s selection of ebooks? We understand. Let’s smash some buttons together!
When we’re not working or simply need to blow off some steam, we love to play games. We can’t be alone in this, so now there is the KHP Arcade, where you can come and play for the low, low price of FREE!
There are no strings attached. We built it for our own enjoyment, as well as our fellow readers. We were tired of hunting down similar games only to find sites full of crazy pop-ups or were suspicious of viruses, etc. We’ve installed these games on site so they’re clean. All you have to worry about is having fun!
Because we’re installing each game individually, it will take time to build the library of titles up but we already have several and it will keep growing. Spread the word and get your friends in on it!
Hey, everybody! This is just a quick announcement that we’ve closed to submissions on all of our imprints. Anything already sent is being considered, and this is why we needed to close. We were getting so many to look over and we want to be timely and thorough with each, so we need a catch-up period. Plus, we have to offer plenty of attention to our upcoming releases as well as our current titles.
We’ll let you know once we’re open again, and as always, you can stay one step ahead of the game by subscribing to our newsletter HERE.
We’re looking forward to another great year with you all!
We’re excited to finally reveal the table of contents for the first release from our erotica imprint, Scarlet Petals Press! This is going to be a fun ride and should be releasing soon (ebook only).
Stories include M/F, M/M, and F/F; a delicious mix!
“The Perfect Cure” by Eve Knight
“Stalkers” by Phoenyx Cross
“Phenomenon” by Brayden Hart
“Knife’s Edge” by Doug Blakeslee
“Subterranean Submission” by Tony Wards
“Inspiration” by G.S. Scott
“Suspense” by Christine Morgan
“A Voyeur Experience” by Syble Baker
There is a mysterious secret in “The City” that has the tabloids frothing at the mouth and many others watching every door and alley like kids hoping for a glimpse of Santa. It’s the legendary 66-Sex Club, a BDSM club that opens every night, but never in the same place. The door could be anywhere and nearly anything, only presenting itself to those who “need” it most. There are rumors of certain taxi drivers who may know of its whereabouts at any given time, but good luck sweet-talking them!
It is said that the house mistress is quite a spunky dominatrix. For those lucky enough to meet her, she goes by a legion of names and wears as many faces.
As for the club, it stretches under or throughout “The City” in some other dimension. It knows your deepest secrets and desires, bad or good, and exploits them. Will you receive pleasure or pain? Most likely both.
Diabolique has recently given an in-depth interview wih Paul F. Olson about his re-release of The Night Prophets.
Necrotica by Hallam Heathcoat was a fun book to put together. Released in the early days of Skullvines Press, S.D. Hintz and Jerrod Balzer went around taking photographs and hired extra artwork done to make it extra special. Unfortunately, it was only available for around six months and we still get the occasional email asking if we have a spare copy. Sorry, we don’t.
But someone is selling it on eBay right now! You’ll have to act fast, though. It only has about 5 hours left, as of this post. If you miss it and no one grabs it, perhaps it will have a re-listing.
Here they are! Check them out and pass them around your naughty writing circles. Remember, it doesn’t officially open until August 1st, so there is plenty of time to get your creative juices flowing (and we positively are not accepting until then! We need time to stock up on tissues.). We’re excited to see what you come up with!
Anthology Title: 66-Sex Club
Format: Ebook only.
Submission Period: August 1, 2013 to October 31, 2013 or until all slots are filled. There are only 10 slots so send us your best!
The Fast Pitch: Imagine if The Twilight Zone was an underground BDSM night club.
The Long Pitch: There is a mysterious secret in “The City” that has the tabloids frothing at the mouth and many others watching every door and alley like kids hoping for a glimpse of Santa. It’s the legendary 66-Sex Club, a BDSM club that opens every night, but never in the same place. The door could be anywhere and nearly anything. Nobody ever knows how to get there, but it will present itself to those who “need” it most. There is also a rumor of certain taxi drivers who may know of its whereabouts at any given time, but good luck sweet-talking them!
This club is a multi-leveled catacomb stretching under “The City” in some other dimension. It knows your deepest secrets and desires, bad or good, and exploits them. Will you receive pleasure or pain? Most likely both.
The house mistress is quite a spunky dominatrix. For those lucky enough to meet her, she goes by a legion of names and wears as many faces.
It’s up to the authors to help build on this universe, sharing with the readers the experiences of those who frequent the establishment.
Examples: A woman stressed nearly to the point of a nervous breakdown passes a janitor’s supply closet and hears music on the other side. She opens it and enters the club for the best “release” she could ever imagine. Or perhaps a corrupt politician who thinks he’s untouchable is eating at a Chinese restaurant. He walks through the restroom doorway and finds himself at the club where he proceeds to lose the chip on his shoulder.
Length: Stories should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words (firm).
Content: This is erotica, so we want sex and naughty behavior. Romance is welcome but not always necessary for BDSM. Gay or straight is accepted. What is NOT accepted, however, is the following: rape/nonconsensual, underage (below 18), bestiality (animal play is fine, just no sex with actual animals), incest (pseudo-taboo is okay, like step sisters, etc), and necrophilia… Okay, maybe some necrophilia (weird zombie BDSM are not out of the question), but we’re firm on the others.
Where to Submit: Send your submission to firstname.lastname@example.org with “66-Sex Club” and your story title in the email heading. Have your contact information in the body of the email and the story attached in .doc format. Let us know if you have any questions before submitting.
How to Submit: Submissions should be in block format manuscript style, where possible. No special fonts or formatting. Please use acceptable manuscript formatting (double-space with one-inch margins) and Times New Roman 12 point font. Include your contact information (real contact for records/payment purposes – to be kept private – plus writing name, address, email, and Paypal address). Simultaneous submissions are okay, but please only send us 1 story at a time. Your work must be unpublished at the time of submission. Do not send stories in a series that has already been launched by another publisher or that you are self-publishing. We will consider reprints, but only if your story has been out of print for several years or you have a large body of work.
Response Times: We will reply that we’ve received your submission. If you hear nothing for a few days, check with us in case it went to our spam folder by mistake. After that, expect to receive a response in 1-4 weeks. Please do not send follow-up emails unless you place the story elsewhere before you’ve received a reply from us. We don’t do form rejections because we’re human and more importantly, so are you.
Payment: $20.00 paid upon acceptance via Paypal (no checks).
Rights: Our payment purchases the right to publish your story in our anthology. KHP Publishers, Inc. owns the rights to the anthology as a whole, while you retain rights to your story.
Scarlet Petals Press will be opening for an erotica anthology in the coming weeks, and we’re very excited about it. We’ll be providing the detailed guidelines in a few days, but for now, here’s the cover by Jerrod Balzer:
Imagine if The Twilight Zone was an underground BDSM night club.
We wanted to give everyone a heads up that we’ve decided to broaden the word count limit on our submissions. We really love shorter works, but we also appreciate how some tales require a bit more room.
Word limits are now 30,000 – 85,000 across the board. See our SUBMISSIONS PAGE for all the details and good luck!
